This position is within the Strategic Sourcing Group within the Supply Chain Management organization supporting the Wells Fargo Auto (indirect and direct auto lending) group within Wells Fargo’s Consumer Lending Group (CLG). The successful Strategic Sourcing Consultant 1 will be responsible for:

• Assisting with managing spend categories and developing supply chain strategies for medium to high risk and regulated, products, services, and suppliers who have business impacts.

• Evaluating company purchasing patterns and forecasts trends.

• Reviewing and approving benchmark standards and conducting gap analysis with best practices.

• Works with management and key stakeholders across CLG Wells Fargo Auto and the Enterprise (when applicable) to determine the long-term needs and applicable supply and service strategies.

• Leads structured analysis of supplier industry, economics, and market conditions.

• Identify and pre-qualify supply alternatives.

• Partners with business groups to coordinate, run, issue, and evaluate sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, reverse auctions, etc.).

• In collaboration with colleagues on the team, determines negotiation strategy and is involved in many aspects of sourcing and contracts negotiations.

• Customizes legal language and drafts non-standard contract terms and conditions.

• Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Contributes to e-business (procure-to-pay), diversity, environmental and supply chain cost reduction strategies to continually improve category effectiveness and efficiencies.

• Assists with identifying and driving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) process improvements to reduce costs.

• Serves as one of the liaisons for current and potential suppliers; resolves systemic/recurring supplier issues.

• Proactively identifies and escalates risk-related issues and presents resolution options.

• Accountable cost saving and avoidance targets.

• Develops & delivers management reporting.

• Maintains current status and engagement information related to active engagements in Strategic Sourcing systems.

• May provide management or direction to other Strategic Sourcing Consultants.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: sourcing, technical sales, consulting, or vendor management

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage vendor relationships for products or services including: contract negotiation, oversight, and SLA management

  • Ability to work across multiple lines of business leading large scale initiatives

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • A BS/BA degree or higher
