Waverly Health Center Maintenance Mechanic Full time 1.0 FTE in Waverly, Iowa
1.0 Full tiime, most of hours are during the day. There is a rotation for nights, weekends, holidays, and on call.
Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure, grounds, and associated equipment of the hospital in good repair. Also responsible for assisting with the inspection and implementation of infection control and safety practices throughout the organization.
Education, Experience, and Training
Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience and skills associated with building upkeep and machinery maintenance/repair preferred.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, including the ability to organize tasks to ensure efficient completion of duties, preferred.
Must be able to work under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, or dangerous situations.
Must possess the ability to work on own with minimal supervision.
Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including the online training modules, the employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.
Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.

Standing – Constantly (67%-100%).
Walking – Constantly (67%-100%).
Lifting – Approximately 50 pounds, Occasionally (1%-33%).
Twisting – Infrequent.
Bending – Occasionally (1%-33%).
Squat/Kneel – Frequently (34%-66%).
May come in contact with hazardous chemicals or treatment modalities.
The possibility exists of exposure to communicable disease due to working in a healthcare environment.
