SUMMARY: This position is responsible in assisting the HACCP Coordinator with the plants HACCP program, which is a science-based process designed to ensure the safety of processed foods. Food processing procedures are analyzed by individual processing plants to identify the most important points at which food safety hazards can be reduced or eliminated. Each program must be approved by the USDA. This position is also responsible for assisting the HACCP Coordinator in the development, implementation, maintenance, and validation of the plants HACCP program as well as the training and certification of Management, FSQA, and HACCP technicians, and any other duties assigned. This position is responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality.REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent in a general professional or technical field.

Experience: 3 plus years' meat/food processing experience needed if non-degreed or an equivalent of education and experience.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Special Skills: Must have knowledge of all processes involved in plant production in order to identify where potential hazards might exist. Must have HACCP knowledge and training, and be able to interpret statistical charts and data. Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities. Travel: 1 domestic trip per year.
