Function: Product Engineering

Title: Part-Time Student-Product Engineering-Waterloo IA - 71139

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare purchase order requisitions in support of John Deere Power Systems Test Lab operations

  • Process and analyze test data as directed by Test Lab operations staff

  • Applies existing applications to routine problems.

  • Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products.

  • Executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.

  • Evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on knowledge of engineering applications.

  • Compiles and furnishes necessary information to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in a STEM, (Science Technology Engineering Math) related field; others may apply

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university (Hawkeye, UNI, Wartburg, etc)

  • If currently attending a community college must plan to pursue a 4-year degree

  • Graduation date of May 2022 or later

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis

  • 16-20 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
