Function: Product Engineering

Title: Part-Time Student Engineering Technology - Waterloo, IA - 43142

Your Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain project management tools, spreadsheets, metric reports, and the department website.

  • Provide support to application engineers expediting part and engine shipments, procurement and storage.

  • Create work requests for lab and test site systems.

  • Perform on-vehicle data collection and electronic control unit service programming.

  • Track and maintain application requirements test results database

What It Takes

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to multi-task and work with others in a team environment.

  • Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Access.

  • Pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems, Accounting, and Engineering; others may apply.

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis

  • Graduation date of December 2019 or later

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

  • Experience with:

  • Excel (including VBA scripting )

  • Business objects reports

  • SharePoint Sites

  • Microsoft Access experience

  • HTML and/or JavaScript

  • Basic understanding of engines and mechanical systems
