Order Coordinator

job summary:

An Order Coordinator is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the Waterloo, IA area. As an Order Coordinator, you will manage complex orders via SAP for engines, axles, direct ship parts, engine accessories, and after treatment devices for direct Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), and distributor accounts. You will monitor open orders from build to delivery.

  • Communicate and resolve complex issues with channel partners regarding complete goods orders, availability, and shipments.

  • Participate in weekly factory and customer meetings.

  • Research, analyze and respond to complex order status inquiries by utilizing internal systems such as SAP, Comar, JD Point, and the web portal order confirmation tools.

  • Effective and frequent communication with customers and factory production personnel to evaluate and prioritize sales orders based on production availability and customer need dates.

  • Expedite and trace orders for channel partners through host systems, factory planning groups, and logistics organizations.

  • Train and counsel distribution and direct original equipment manufacturers on order fulfillment programs, and alternative products.

What It Takes:

  • We need excellent communicators who possess strong team building skills.

  • You must be able to handle difficult conversations/situations/negotiations and able to make sound decisions.

  • You will have strong organization and prioritization skills. Ideally, you will have a BA degree in a business/management, supply management, accounting/finance or a marketing related discipline or minimum of 1-3 years interaction with customers.

In addition we require:

  • Has a background in working with corporate operating systems such as SAP (should be quite competent).

  • Ability to use advanced functions in Excel such as pivot tables along with experiences in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft tools.

  • You must have excellent attention to detail with accuracy.

A strong candidate will also:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal/written

  • Experience in areas such as freight forwarding and brokerage.
