Cosma International Production Supervisor in Victor, Iowa

Directs the work flow in the Production area on that shift by managing employees and projects. Works with support groups as necessary.
1.Supervises and co-ordinates activities of workers. Schedules operators to rotate through respective lines. 2.Identify training needs, schedule training and/or do training for employees on respective operations and safety. 3.Ensures production operations are operating effectively, efficiently and in accordance with safety standards. 4.Ensures that production and quality standards are maintained. 5.Required on occasion to make necessary repairs on machines and dies. Have the ability to troubleshoot production processes and set ups. 6.Recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity, safety and working environment. 7.Directs the utilization, maintenance and use of all machinery and equipment involved in production activities. Must control quarantine area. 8.Responsible for helping to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Promotes and practices “safety first” by addressing all hazards, defective equipment and unsafe processes immediately. 9.Be involved with accident/incident investigations. 10.Provides instruction, guidance and leadership to employees by assisting in problem solving. 11.Maintains effective communication with personnel regarding company policies, procedures, work rules, safety and production expectations. 12.Maintains records of availability of components, part movement, and storage of work in progress. 13.Each supervisor’s performance will be measured, in part, by their ability to follow the various guidelines incorporated into their job descriptions; including, but not limited to, employee relations, safety, quality, and production standards. 14.Responsible for adhering to regulations under OSHA. 15.Performs other duties as required. 16.Knows and understands victor mfg. Quality policy. 17.Inspect/accept/reject material/ parts per work instructions, process book, procedures. 18.Performs planned and unplanned work place inspections. 19.Follow and enforce all health, safety & environmental policies. 20.Be involved with accident/incident investigations. 21.Follows and supports Victor Manufacturing’s and Magna’s operating principles
Evaluates employee’s performance on a regular and timely basis and commends good performance.
Documents employee performance issues to insure that records are established and available in employee files. The documentation will include all incidents of violations of company policies and failures to meet acceptable job performance. Absenteeism, unacceptable conduct, safety violations, insufficient productivity, poor quality parts produced and errors that damage tooling, equipment or the facility are examples of things gone wrong that require documentation.
Knowledge and Education
Must have GED or high school diploma. Good working knowledge of our production facility, product, parts, tooling, systems, etc. Prefer someone with experience with CMS
3 to 5 years high volume production experience in metal stamping and weld assembly.

General factory environment
This position is for the afternoon shift with general working hours of 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
