Technicians are responsible for electricaland mechanical systems in thefacility, which will include daily troubleshooting and routine maintenanceactivities. Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems that affect productivityof the manufacturing group. Be involvedwith process improvements providing input in production problem solving.LOCATION: Story City, IAESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Participatein training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the STOP Safety Programfundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation's efforts to achieve a zeroaccident rate.Familiarand able to work with all PLCactivities in the plant to include reading programs and troubleshooting. Befamiliar with all HMI systems in the facility with the ability to troubleshootas necessary.Repairand troubleshoot various types of AC/DC Drives to include Indramat, Siemens,ABB, Hitachi and Reliance.Providemechanical troubleshooting support working with bearings, gear drives, chaindrives, etc.Performwelding assignments as assigned.Troubleshootelectronic and relay logic to the component level.Troubleshootelectrical issues, which will include both single phase and three phaseapplications.Adhereto all company safety guidelines.Communicatewith fellow technicians to help assure a safe work environment and strive fordowntime reduction.Attendand participate in all company-mandated meetings.Anyother responsibilities as assigned.SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES:None.QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, anindividual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATIONand/or EXPERIENCE:Related Associates/two year and/or a minimumof four to six years experience preferably from a manufacturing environment(see other skills and abilities section). LANGUAGESKILLS:Ability to read,analyze, and interpret engineering documents such as blueprints, schematics,flow charts and mechanical and electrical drawings, general business reports,and technical procedures. Ability toeffectively present information and to respond to questions from Supervisorsand plant personnel. MATHEMATICALSKILLS:Ability to work with basic mathematicalconcepts. Ability to apply concepts suchas fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONINGABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with avariety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizationexists. Ability to interpret a varietyof instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
