Responsibilities:

  • Inspects weld surfaces for dirt, rust & flaws prior to welding.

  • Tack welds and/or finish welds to required production levels.

  • Assembles products by competently and safely operating hand tools such as torches, grinders and weld machines.

  • Determines sequence of operations by reading & studying blueprints, specifications and work orders.

  • Understands how to read and understand a tape measure to layout parts for welding.

  • Follows assigned work instructions to prepare items for welding.

  • Understands how to log in and out of, and proficiently uses, the Epicor ERP system to record work completed on jobs.

  • Uses overhead cranes and/or gantries to transport and move material.

  • Keeps assigned work area clean and organized at all times, and assists with keeping other work areas clean and organized.

  • Contributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, organization and cleanliness in area of operation.

  • Contributes to team effort by communicating and working well with others.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a welding program or previous mig welding experience

  • Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively in the English language.

  • Must contribute to the success of the team.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to accurately read blue prints, tape measure and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.

  • Must have the ability to use overhead cranes and gantries.

  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required per the Company's safety policies and programs.

  • Position is in a manufacturing environment. Environment could be noisy, dusty and will vary in temperature. Must be able to perform work functions while standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, frequently exerting 30 pounds of force. Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, reach and grasp. Must be able to use foot pedal to operate equipment.

  • Vision: Distant Vision: must be 20/40 or greater corrected or uncorrected in each eye. Near Vision: must be J2 or better corrected or uncorrected, 12 inches from face in each eye.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Shift:

  • Full Time – Night Shift – 5:00 pm to 3:45 am, Overtime based on business needs
