What you will do:

The (Cryogenic) Field Service Technician trainee is responsible to learn and perform duties of a field service technician at the trainee level. This position reports to the Field service manager.

Your responsibilities:

  • Trainee to participate in all trainings as necessary to develop a high level of technical competence in all field service job duties.

  • Can demonstrate the knowledge of a full compliance with our Airgas SOP's per the Bulk Installation Manual.

  • Will learn to install cryogenic bulk & gaseous bulk at Airgas facilities and customer sites.

  • Begin training in becoming a complete qualified field service technician.

  • Trained in numerous repair works on bulk vessels, high pressure systems and cryogenic transport trailers.

  • Be able to perform preventative maintenance inspections on all equipment.

  • Trained to repair pumping systems meters, valves, piping and regulators

  • Performs installation of piping systems in accordance with company SOP’s.

  • Learn to perform Site Surveys to assure compliance with all federal, state/provincial and local codes.

  • Learn operations of equipment such as heaters, vaporizers, mixers, telemetry, PLC's and other related.

  • Will be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task and complete required paperwork on a timely basis.

  • Adheres to and ensures that all safety policies and procedures are followed.

  • Learn to read P&Id's and learn to locate and diagnose problems. Be able to learn to correct and repair.

  • Be able to work various hours and days. Frequent over-time and being on call will be required.

  • Trainee will be expected to complete all assigned duties in an appropriate amount of time, per job.

    What you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain as condition of employment, a Certified Brazer Certificate, within 30 days of employment.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be mechanically inclined and be able to take direction. Willing to learn new things and be able to multitask. Understandings of powertools and P&id beneficial.

  • Willing to learn the all local codes and Airgas SOP's.

  • Is wiling to understand the characteristics and hazards of cryogenic and high pressure gases in general, and be able to retain knowledge and understanding of the products, containers and piping systems which will be encountered in the performance of their job duties.

  • Ability to work with cryogenic equipment, pumps, pressure piping, compressors, and to troubleshoot system problems.

  • Demonstrate good work ethics and customer servcie abilities

  • Basic understanding of welding, brazing processes (specifically silver brazing).

  • Able to respond to emergencies 24 hours per day. Arrangements for emergency coverage are made when a technician is unavailable for personal reasons or paid time off.

  • Ability to learn to read blueprints and design specifications, manufacturer drawings, architectural drawings related to bulk delivery sites associated with customer installations.

  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Learn to use basic Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook E-mail).

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines, as well as with others.

  • Demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and employees.

  • Ability to receive goals and manage time to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and achievement of goals are accomplished and manage and execute multiple tasks or priorities as necessary

  • Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player.
