1 - First Shift

The IT Team Lead leads a functional team to achieve execution excellence in the assigned functional/technical area. This position acts as an expert in analysis and/or a technical subject matter expert in one or more areas. This role provides guidance, instruction, and direction to the team and manages the team priorities based on the demand and capacity to produce high quality results. This role contributes to planning, creating and implementing an IT vision and strategy aligned with the company’s strategic business plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Lead through the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors. Manage assigned team members in performance of their duties. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s business strategies and objectives and ensure department is properly serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.

  2. Work with IT leadership, project managers, assigned team and testing services for high quality releases of solutions in alignment with roadmaps. This may include major upgrades, additional modules, enhancements or defect fixes. Maintain support documentation for process, data standards, and systems functionality & operations.

  3. Analyze and resolve support issues with emphasis on identification of root causes. Collaborate with business partners to implement process, training, or system improvements. Publish support metrics which measures the effectiveness of the support process for issue/resolution by application and business function.

  4. Work with IT leadership and use/modify roadmaps to maintain a prioritized scheduled list of all significant efforts (present and future). Communicate effectively to create common understanding of scope, requirements, and timelines.

  5. Advocate and support implementation of consistent processes across enterprise. Share best practices and apply lean principles. Implement additional modules, enhance existing applications and improve user experience such that systems guide and support approved processes. Standardize for quality of data and maintain an extensible, easy to use data reporting infrastructure. Recommend additional modules as needed. Global: Provide appropriate support to Vermeer subsidiaries and remote locations.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Business administration.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant IT and business/industry work experience required.

    • Experience in supervising and building relationships with people at all levels required.

    • Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, architecture, application development and support, networks, and computer operations.

  • Ability to identify root cause failure analysis and reliability evaluation.

  • Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.

  • Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence others .


Up to 5% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.

Key Considerations for the IT Team Lead – Data Analytics Role:Lead a team that analyzes data sets using various statistical methods to identify patterns within data, to ultimately tell an insightful and actionable story. Works with the business to lead opportunities to improve data use and analytical processes and assist in proposing business process improvements. Stays on the leading edge of data and analytics techniques and capabilities; and leads the implementation of new methodologies and best practices to the enterprise.Additional Skills and Abilities:- Craft compelling narratives, stories and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external customers- Synthesize complex analyses into concise summaries with actionable recommendations- Document, maintain, and extend analytics for our data platforms- Support the team and help manage the end-to-end analytics process.- Demonstrated proficiency interacting with data using SQL- Mastery in presenting data with Power BI and other visualization tools (Excel, Azure Synapse, etc.)
