Van Gorp Corporation Production Shift Supervisor- 1st and 2nd Shift with SIGN-ON BONUS in Pella, Iowa
Position Title: Production Shift Supervisor
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Performs a variety of procedural and technical duties necessary to supervise the department in a manner that meets with predetermined production goals. (quality and capacity), fabrication requirements and within budgetary guidelines.
Confers with Production Supervisor at start of shift to coordinate activities of workers and determine work priorities, supplies required and team skills needed.
Checks orders and scheduling to be sure production requirements are met.
Coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within the plant in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
Supervises and oversees department personnel in the areas of training, re-training and cross-training, efficiency, methods, and maintains disciplinary and policy standards.
Must keep supervisor informed of any scheduling, material, or training problems.
Uses knowledge and experience to assist in overall procedures.
Insures proper maintenance and care of equipment through preventive maintenance programs.
Meets predetermined cost reduction goals.
Oversees supplies to insure adequate components and welding materials are available.
Prepares reports and provides information as required.
Attends meetings, shows and seminars as required.
Assists with interviews, hires, evaluates and discipline employees, terminates.
Keeps department in a neat and orderly fashion.
Performs other duties as assigned and required.

Follow Company Ethics and Environmental Programs.
Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs.
High school or equivalent. Degree in Industrial Technology is desirable.
Personal computer skills required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary.
Supervisory skills/experience required.
Position should be a promotional slot.
Two or three years previous production experience necessary.
*Sign-on bonus includes $250 after 3 months of employment and an additional $250 after 6 months of employment. Only applies to Machinist hired on or after April 28, 2021.
