Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or business administration preferred. Must be able to work effectively with multiple priorities and work well with people. Clinical experience in maintenance preferred, not required. Previous experience and expertise required in supervisory capacity; i.e. team working; charge position. Previous experience in construction trades to include carpentry and masonry experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to supervise employees. Considerable independent judgment required. Is proficient in interpreting drawings, blueprints, details and specifications. The Assistant Director of Facility Services/Construction reports to the Director of Facilities Services and is responsible for standing in for the Director of Facilities in their absence. Develops and administers programs to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment in accordance with regulations and administrative guidelines, maintains the buildings in a livable and workable condition relative to heat, light, power, air conditioning, and other broad environmental factors; directs the repair, reconstruction, and construction of the hospital's physical plant and its contents; administers a preventative maintenance program to facilitate uninterrupted service to patients. Management of Environment of Care (EC) Safety and Life Safety Plans in order to minimize hazards is a major responsibility of this position. Responsible for demolition and construction work to include walls, windows, doors, flooring, painting, cabinetry and ceiling. Performs a number of tasks in all PHO facilities. Maybe called in PRN.
