AIM Aerospace, Inc. IT Business Intelligence Analyst in Orange City, Iowa

General Position Summary:

This position will report to the Director of Business Intelligence and will be responsible for business system application administration; business intelligence, analytics, and report writing; projects related to Plex (AIM’s ERP/MRP/Business software for our Orange City location), and IoT integration. They will perform a wide range of tasks and functions with primary areas of focus including business intelligence analytics, report writing, process improvement and maintenance of the Plex (business software) environment, dashboard development, and integration with IoT as a part of our Industry 4.0 initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess the experience, skills, diligence, savvy, and desire to deliver cross-functional systems architecture, reports, and business intelligence within a hybrid Saas/IT environment for an aerospace manufacturing company. This position will require both leadership and hands on work. Project Management skills and experience will be crucial to the success of this position. Effective communication with the entire AIM Aerospace team will be necessary to develop technical specifications and business requirements to provide technical solutions that will allow the business intelligence team to excel.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Plex environment and the integrated application systems

  • Administration of the supporting systems and services that interact with Plex and support the business operations

  • Manages process improvement projects and initiatives as related to the business information system applications

  • Leads implementation, documentation, and testing of new Plex module settings, configurations, and workflows

  • Provides internal user support related directly to the Plex ERP/MRP system

  • Gain product knowledge of Epicor software for involvement and assistance to WA facilities

  • Business Intelligence Project Management

  • Responsible for interactively working with business units to enhance reporting opportunities and solve problems by developing custom reports utilizing SQL and BI tools and analytics

  • Lead and manage Orange City BI, including reporting, data warehousing, and analytical processing

  • Work directly with business system stakeholders to define and drive system use and analytics

  • Create and define dashboards and report metrics that will help improve company performance

  • Cooperates as an extended team member of the Information Technology team

  • A desire to work with new technology and development principals

  • Fearlessly dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Specific Job Skills:

  • Experience managing and maintaining a business information system

  • Experience in modern database and API, business information systems and Microsoft SQL Server

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required; effective communication of complex concepts and ability to influence solution decisions for the AIM team

  • Demonstrated skills in managing systems and project management

  • Attention to detail

  • Passion and understanding of users and user experience

  • Demonstrated ability using information systems to solve ad hoc report requests

  • SQL query and report writing ability

  • Familiarity with webservices, REST, JSON, and/or SOAP would be a positive

  • Team ethics and team mentality

  • The ability to think creatively and conceptualize product solutions and design

  • Proactive monitoring and improvements for system performance and stability

  • Flexibility with working hours as required for remote sites and system upgrades and maintenance

  • Ability to thrive and produce team results in a fast-paced, rapid-growth environment

Education and/or Experience:

  • 5-8 years of information systems, business system report writing, and/or BI development

  • Bachelor’s degree related to Information Technology Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or similar; or equivalent experience

    Job Conditions:

This position will mostly be performed in an office setting.
