TRIMARK CORPORATION Finishing A Operator 2nd Shift in NEW HAMPTON, Iowa

$500 sign on bonus and $500 after successful completion of 6 month evaluation period.Starting wage is $17.02 and $2.00 shift differential.iJob ObjectiveTo operate manual, automatic and robotic finishing machines in the timely production of finished parts consistent with established quality standards and plant schedules.Duties and ResponsibilitiesiReview work schedule to make sure of what jobs are to be started or completed.iSets up buffing machine and makes adjustments to minimize safety hazards and help achieve highest level of quality production possible.iChecks finished parts for appearance and reports problems promptly to Manufacturing Engineering and/or Manufacturing Coordinator or Manufacturing Manager of operating problems.iOperates finishing machines according to production schedules and transports parts to and from the buffing area as required.iKeeps accurate time and job records.iMaintains work area in a clean and orderly condition using 5S principles to minimize safety hazards and lost-time accidents.iFollows established safety procedures and policies at all times.iDetermine accurate piece count in the container using machine counter, hand count or weigh count.iProvides information to maintenance and the tool room to assist in diagnosing equipment or tooling problems.iMaintains a good attendance record.iPerforms other duties as assigned.iThis position supports the continual improvement and compliance of QMS and EMS.iResponsible to perform his or her job functions in a manner that supports TriMark's mission, vision and values in order for the company to attain its strategic and growth goals.Skills, Abilities, and Experience RequiredSkill to set up and operate manual and automatic finishing machines which can be learned on the job.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions or special instructions.Ability to work cooperatively with other employees.Judgment RequiredTo determine overall quality of raw and finished parts.To operate a forklift and other machinery in a safe manner.Core CompetenciesiSet Up and Machine Programming iSet Up and program production equipment with good manufacturing practices and operating proceduresiPerforming shutdown and startup procedures on department specific equipmentiDepartmental paperworkiEnsure all job information is loaded into JDE correctlyiEnsure all reports such as scrap and uptime/downtime are filled out correctlyiEnsure shift report is completediEnsure that everyone is following work instructionsiTroubleshootingiDetermine causes or operating errors and finding a solution on how to addressiDetermine root cause of quality issues and determining solutions or steps to fixiDetermine safety issues as well as safety improvements InstructingiTeach others how to perform or do something so they understandiEnsure that everyone is following safety rules such as PPEiEnsure that everyone knows where they need to be and what they are supposed to be doingiCommunicationiConvey information to others effectively iUnderstanding blueprints and measuring gagesiNeed to understand how to read blueprints and determine good or badiNeed to understand how to use correct measuring tools to gage parts such as calipers, gage pins, or any other specialty gages needed to ensure part qualityiQuality StandardsWorking ConditionsMust be available to work overtime and weekends as required to meet the companyis business demands.Exposure to hazards of high speed wheels and metal dust created in the finishing process.i Noise levels are between 90-95.i There is some contact with buffing compounds necessary for the buffing process.i The area is dry and the temperature is above normal.Uniform safety practices consist of safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other devices as required.
