CCR Environmental Laboratory Analyst
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, CCR Environmental Laboratory Analyst, are to:
Prepare and analyze Glyphosate and Acetanilide cross contamination samples using HPLC, GC, IC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and GC-MS equipment to ensure quality across the Muscatine site, crop protection, and other global organizations;
Have high awareness and mitigation of cross contamination risks in sample preparation;
Perform advanced instrument maintenance and troubleshooting on HPLC, GC, IC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC-MS, TOC and distillation equipment;
Prepare and analyze waste treatment samples via GC, LC and IC to monitor treatability for freedom to operate (FTO) compliance;
Prepare, analyze, and interpret results on non-routine customer service samples via HPLC and GC-MS with a high degree of accuracy and accountability;
Collaborate and communicate regularly with process technicians, engineers, quality assurance, and lab technical staff to share results, troubleshoot processes, and improve efficiencies;
Complete projects involving method development, optimization, and analyte detection;
Learn and assist, proactively, with other roles within the lab;
Have strong focus on mentoring and developing junior analysts within the lab;
Help Develop/Maintain training program for future CCR laboratory analysts.

Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline and lab experience; or A.A. or Associate’s degree at least two years of lab experience with Chromatography, LIMS and CDS (Chromatography Data System), (five years’ lab experience with Chromatography, LIMS and CDS (Chromatography Data System) may substitute for education requirements);
Ability to meet after-hours and weekend support needs;
Strong focus on safety, teamwork and personal flexibility;
Ability to work without direct supervision in a diverse team environment;
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of confidence in analytical ability, able to defend results;
Read and understand product specifications;
Advanced Microsoft Office skills;
Application of statistics for development, optimization and control of analytical processes;
Experience in chromatographic and spectroscopic methods such as knowledge of the following instrumentation GC, LC, IC, ICP, GCMS;
Ability to understand and perform advanced instrument maintenance;
Ability to prepare samples with complicated matrices;
Strong skills in oral/written communication, time and task management, priority setting, decision making, resource allocation, and cost management;
This position is in a Laboratory setting and involves repetitive motion and/or potential for lifting up to 50 lbs.;
Standard hours will be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.;
Overtime hours including evening and weekend work required as needed to support the business needs.
