Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent, secondary technical education a plus

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience, preferred

  • Detail and quality oriented

  • Verifiable dependability and energetic

  • Good communication skills

  • Basic computer skills (Email, Internet, Excel, Word)

  • Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.

  • Follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.

  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit. Pulls wiring through conduit. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment

  • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps. Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.

  • Connects/installs power supply wiring on conduit for newly installed and existing machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.

  • Tests continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.

  • Observes and tests malfunctioning of machinery or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments or replacement and discuss malfunction with supervisor and other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.

  • Diagnosis malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. Diagnoses and replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motor bearings, and positions sensing devices. Rewires motors.

  • Push buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.

  • Follows preventative maintenance program as established by the company and performs inspections of equipment and takes preventative action when necessary.

  • Assists in training other maintenance personnel.

  • Help with other areas of the maintenance department and perform unique and special projects as assigned.

  • Keep plant and work area in a clean and orderly condition and notify supervisor concerning the need for repairs.
