Stellar Industries Inc Field Service Technician, Stellar Truck & Trailer in Mason City, Iowa
Be responsible for performing on-site crane inspections, DOT inspections and Stellar equipment repairs. Travelling Field Service Technician duties to cover Northern Midwest states (Iowa, Minnesota, Dakotas, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Illinois).
Inspecting, testing and reporting for various organizational standards including ANSI, FMVSS and DOT.
Responsible for complying with safety and quality systems procedures and manuals.
Perform normal QC inspection duties as needed.
Process and enter customer orders. Review customer orders for accuracy and completeness, and ensure STT products meet required customer order specifications and requirements.
Always address and communicate with customers in a professional manner regardless of the customers’ communication style.
Complete assignments or projects concerning customer data, warranty, or other pertinent topics in a timely and effective manner.
Be capable of performing all aspects of the Field Service Technician’s role, working with other employees as part of a team, and be prompt and on time daily for work.
Be capable of reading blue prints and understanding them and other technical documents required to perform equipment installation and repair, and be able to discuss this information with others to resolve problems as they occur.
Have the ability and desire to become efficient with mechanical equipment, and learn all aspects of job as required,

Works to create no or limited scrap and rework and works to continually improve quality level.
Follows all company safety rules as laid out in the company safety manual and all other company policies.

High School Degree or GED required.
ASE certified mechanic; or five years related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience desirable.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write work instructions and procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from fellow employees and customers.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Have a good working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical wiring, welding and metal fabrication.
Ability to read blue prints and perform or instruct work to conform.
Understanding of shop tools and functions
Familiar with the use of volt ohmmeter, high voltage tester, tachometer, heat sensors, pneumatic and hydraulic flow and pressure meters.
Ability to instruct and advise on basic hydraulic truck equipment trouble shooting, repair and installation. Training on specific equipment may be needed and made available.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Able to resolve complaints and problems as they arrive from customers, troubleshooting and customer service skill set is required to perform this job.
Proficient with the use of PC’s including Microsoft Office or similar software programs.
Familiar or the ability to learn to use existing enterprise software.
Online billing system, Inventory Management system
Overnight travel will be required.
Either have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
