ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Initiate purchase orders for parts, services and/or non-product items; arrange for receipt, inspection and compliance of these purchase orders to meet customer request dates. Coordinate the planning, review and forecasting of parts within the designated value stream. Make decisions to release, firm, defer or cancel Firm Planned Orders. Continually perform Inventory analysis on selected parts to monitor ROQs, rates, safety stock levels and kanban sizing. Coordinate communications as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between Fisher and suppliers/production to minimize obsolescence and changeover time. Facilitate supplier meetings, teleconferences and visits to assist in resolution of production, design, quality and delivery issues. Assists with developing and implementing Purchasing strategies to accomplish the goals of individual value streams as well as company goals. Work with Value Stream Manager and Materials Manager to define and help initiate material containment opportunities. Balance demand and capacity through entry of orders into Master Schedule. Review and coordinate material to the master schedule. Help implement lean manufacturing techniques into the designated value stream including the facilitation and use of Kanbans, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Scheduling Boards and Best Practices. Maintain delivery prospectus. Perform other related duties as required. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Understand Oracle functions associated with material purchasing, material planning, and master scheduling. Strong organizational and planning skills. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Strong computer skills including the use of Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word. An understanding of Lean manufacturing knowledge and tools. Working knowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP), MRPII and manufacturing business systems. Strong decision making skills.
