Description
Dalton Ag is a brand forged in America’s heartland and proud to be the premier fertilizer application equipment manufacturer since 1996. A Welder’s primary responsibility is MIG welding of steel parts.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
· MIG welding including the following:
o Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols)
o Inspect welds for accuracy & quality
o Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel
o Change welding wire as needed
o Change gas tanks as needed
· Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the proper location
· Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in safe manner and that all safety devices are in use
· Perform first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required
· Perform simple maintenance and repair as required
· Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of manufacturing plant
· Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system
· Other job-related duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· 6 months experience with MIG welding, preferred
· Candidates must pass basic MIG welding test
· Position requires basic math skills and ability to read blue prints
· Working knowledge of measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measure
Working Conditions and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
· Work in a production environment with ambient temperatures
· Occasional work outside
· Position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching
· Employee must occasionally lift, push, pull or move items up to 50 pounds
· Required PPE: Safety toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection are required in all production areas
