The purpose of this role is to aid in the production of insects and maintenance of insect colonies for research purposes. Responsible for following established methods for the production of multiple insect species, maintenance of insect colonies, supplies, equipment, and work areas. This person may also be involved in assisting with experiments and research.

What You Will Do:
Ensuresthat all material necessary for rearing insect colonies is prepared properlyand on time.
Responsiblefor all aspects of insect colony tasks, such as daily maintenance, dietpreparation, egg collection, weekly production setup, insect staging,sanitation, etc.
Assistswith miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, handling, packaging and storing facilitysupplies/materials/equipment.
Operatesand maintains complex equipment in support of experiments conducted within aresearch project.
Mayhave limited accountability for overseeing and/or directing the work ofothers.
Compilesand records information, sometimes using computer.
Maywrite experimental reports, summaries and protocols.
Whatexpertise have you grown? What is required from you?
Minimumof a High School Diploma
2-3years of work experience
Experiencein Entomology or Insect Rearing is highly preferred.
Musthave good analytical problem-solving skills
Willingand able to work weekends and overtime, if required
Beingable to work in warm/hot environments with or without reasonable accommodation
Willing and able to lift up to 30-50ibs
Willingand able to handle insects
Ability to perform physicallabor
Abilityto read, understand and follow protocols.
Excellentattention to detail.
Abilityto work within a team.
