Description/Job Summary

American Athletic, Inc is a major sports equipment manufacturing company located in Jefferson, Iowa. We are owned by Spalding; a division of Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., & leading international basic apparel company.

We currently have an opening for a Systems Technician.

The Systems Technician provides "in-house" computer / network support based on demonstrated knowledge of current company-used software applications. Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Coordinates the resolution of network problems or malfunctions. Provides user training and support for all levels within the facility.

Responsibilities/Duties

Investigate and resolve ROI software problems reported by users. Call ROI to request service and support as required.

Investigate and resolve computer hardware and software problems reported by users. Assist users with trouble shooting or answer questions related to Word, Excel, e-mail, etc.

Utilize available hardware and software, monitor status of entire network to ensure workstations, switches, modems, servers, phone system, and phone lines are functioning properly.

Receive calls pertaining to network problems and ensures that the appropriate corrective action is taken. Track problems completely through resolution.

Develop procedures for disaster recovery, systems security and backup, and network maintenance and administration as required, including the ROI system.

Recommend equipment purchases and assist with the order and setup of phone lines, personal computers, printers and other office machines.

Required Experience

  • Prior related work experience not required (2 years of related work experience required in lieu of Associate degree)

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in related IT area or equivalent years of related work experience.

  • Working knowledge of systems administration, network design and personal computers, including both hardware and software.
