It affords an opportunity to tackle a timely research problem using an array of experimental approaches.Duties include: Assessment of the effect of inhaled nicotine on pain behaviors in rats, conducting autoradiography of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (radioligand binding) on slices of brain tissue, performing husbandry and monitoring inhalation chambers, keeping detailed written and organized records of experimental design, protocols, computer data analysis and raw data; ordering supplies, and maintaining laboratory and experimental records.Education Requirement:Requires a Bachelor's degree in a biomedical related science or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience in a neuroscience related field.Required Qualifications:Familiarity with basic laboratory methods including preparation of solutions, use of analytical balances, and prior experience handling rats or mice. Strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and good verbal communication skills.U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is requiredCertifications:N/ADesirable Qualifications:Prior experience conducting pharmacological or physiological research in conscious rats or mice is desired.
