One permanent full time position available Wage: $44,678.40 - $57,512.00 (starting wage contingent upon experience) Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Job summary: Under immediate direction, maintains, constructs and repairs City streets, sidewalks, catch basins and storm drains. Removes snow and leaves from roadways.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Four to six months experience in street construction and maintenance required. Must live within 17 miles of the corporate limits of Iowa City, Iowa within one year of appointment to the position. Valid State of Iowa Commercial Learners permit required upon 1st day in position. Valid State of Iowa Class A commercial drivers license with air brake and tanker endorsements required within 6 months of hire. Satisfactory driving record required. This position is subject to federal drug testing requirements including screening through the FMCSA Clearinghouse. A pre-employment drug screen is required. Must be 18 years of age. Must pass criminal background check.
Preferred qualifications: Seven to twelve months of related experience or training preferred.
