Monogram Foods is seeking an experience meat/proteins purchasing professional to join the procurement team supporting multiple locations. Individual must have a solid understanding of underlying beef, pork, and poultry markets. Position will be critical in setting strategic direction for procurement of key meat and poultry raw materials. Qualified individual can be based at either Monogram’s Memphis, TN Support Center or Harlan, IA location.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Supplier selection and leading procurement of items across multiple manufacturing facilities.

  • Qualifying new suppliers.

  • Cost and contract negotiations for key protein commodities.

  • Work closely with plant buyers, plant operations teams, controllers, and demand planning organization.

  • Manage inventory levels to meet production scheduling.

  • Collaborative process with plant production scheduling and tactical execution of providing supply of raw materials to support efficient plant production.

  • Lead efforts on cost reductions and improvement.

  • Overnight Travel to manufacturing facilities and suppliers.

  • Collaborate with R&D and Sales teams on new product development.

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred

  • 3 or more years of professional related experience

  • Strong knowledge of meat proteins especially beef, pork, poultry, and related commodity markets

  • Experience in pork belly and trim cuts procurement will be considered a plus

  • Strong supplier negotiation skills

  • Process improvement experience

  • Proven track record of cost effective procurement

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and timeline

  • Stage Gate and Project Management skills are preferred

  • MS Office (Excel)

  • Strong written and oral communication
