Job Description
Perform miscellaneous plumbing tasks to include: cutting, threading, and insulation of pipes; repair and replace toilets, sinks, and other fixtures; open plugged toilets and sewer lines; repair/replace water and steam lines; perform soldering of pipes as needed; assist with the maintenance and monitor of the HTU.
Operate various types of maintenance equipment to include but not limited to: medium duty dump truck, commercial mower, skid loader, backhoe tractor, sewer jet, and other various sewer snakes.
Assist lead worker in ordering plumbing related parts and performing as backup if lead worker is unavailable; monitoring quantities of plumbing parts on hand; organizing inventory of small parts and tools assigned to the GRC plumbing trade.
Organize, stock inventory, and clean assigned GRC plumbing truck; ensure it's routine maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
Respond to after-hours call backs for plumbing work orders. Assist with after-hours call backs for other service work as needed.
Assist with snow removal during and after hours as needed.
SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
May require Class B CDL, Pool Operator's Certification required; Must pass a respiratory physical and fit test.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Experience equal to three years of full-time work in skilled plumbing;
OR
licensure as a Journey Plumber or Plumbing Contractor;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting the completion of one term of study in a plumber's course at a recognized trade school for each six months of the required experience;
OR
the successful completion of three years in an approved plumbing apprenticeship program;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as a Trades Helper which involved plumbing duties.
