Koch Fertilizer, LLC is seeking a motivated and self-driven Operations Technician for our Fort Madison IA facility. The successful candidate will perform operations and maintenance activities at an anhydrous ammonia terminal. Responsibilities include ammonia storage, truck loading, pipeline receipts, maintenance inspections, health and safety inspections, and general maintenance of the terminal. Will perform duties to assist terminal leadership in all aspects of compliance of a PSM regulated facility. This position requires the individual to live within 30 minutes of the facility and take rotating call for after hour issues. What You Will Need: ( Basic Qualifications:) Must have the ability to understand procedures, safety & environmental risks associated with handling, shipping, & storage of anhydrous ammonia. 1+ yrs. experience or training in facilities, operations, or maintenance. Mechanical aptitude or background Willing to be on a rotating 24hr on-call schedule during nights and weekends Must live within 30 minutes of the terminal Must have good communication and organizational skills Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Ex: Word & Excel specifically) Valid drivers license High School Diploma Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 35lbs. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather Ability to sit, stand or kneel as needed Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at heights of approximately 25-100 ft Ability to wear a gas mask type respirator Occasional exposure to fumes/airborne particles Unassisted physical mobility around a plant Ability to pass a pulmonary breathing test Able to wear full Level A PPE and SCBA, Able to obtain a TWIC card What Will Put You Ahead: ( Preferred Qualifications) 3+ yrs. experience with anhydrous ammonia/chemical distribution and storage operations 3+ industrial mechanical systems experience Proficient with Maximo Knowledge of PSM, EH&S compliance, and ammonia terminal operations or related chemical type facilities Vocational/technical degree or certificate Learn more about our Management Philosophy (Market-Based Management ) You may not always see our name on the products you use, but at Koch Industries, we work each day to help make better food, clothing, shelter, transportation, technologies, and other necessities.
