Cryotech Deicing Technology, a division of General Atomics, is a leader in the development and manufacturing of deicing products for aircraft, runways and other applications, currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Specialist in Ft. Madison, Iowa. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating and performing repairs, maintaining, troubleshooting and installing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs installation of electrical components such as electrical wire raceways, cable, terminations and electrical fixtures.
Maintains, and troubleshoot continuous process equipment including: Motor control circuitry, MCC’s, VFD's, PLC's hardware, AC/DC circuits, 4-20 mA circuits and low and medium voltage circuitry and components.
Maintains, and troubleshoots cameras, gate controls, UPS Systems, Generators and
Performs general preventative maintenance and calibrations on electronic and pneumatic instrumentation.
Operates mobile equipment, including forklift trucks, lifts, and booms
Operates a company vehicle which requires a clean and valid driver’s license.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations.
Communicates project statuses, issues and tasks regularly to managers and facilities staff
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Typically requires education al training equivalent to the completion of a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency and two or more years of progressive experience in operation and maintenance of electrical equipment. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
State of Iowa electrical license or equivalent desired.
Must demonstrate a general understanding of electrical principles and concepts.
Must be knowledgeable of NFPA 70 & 70E.
Must possess: (1) a valid driver's license with a good driving record verified by the DMV; (2) general knowledge of building and electrical codes, safety regulations, and local construction industry practices; (3) general knowledge and use of electrical hand tools and voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices; (4) the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts and other mechanical drawings; and (5) good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document and report information while assessing situations and making judgments.
The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
