Manages all aspects of plant operations for the production of vegetable oil sterol and tocopherol product forms produced at Cargill’s Eddyville Vitamin E facility including Environment, Health, Safety, Quality Control/Assurance Programs, Maintenance and Reliability, Budgets/Costs, Plant Staffing and Administration.
Provide guidance and leadership with all areas of operations (Process Safety, Operations, Maintenance, QA, etc) to adhere to an operations excellence model and development of talent that ensures long term success.
Initiate and facilitate long term yield/quality/capacity/reliability improvements including leading, development and supervision of a team of technical resource and working with product line manager.
Member of Cargill Eddyville Site Leadership Team – responsible for developing and maintaining strategies and alignment across the operating units on the Eddyville campus related to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), HR, Community, Budgeting/Cost Management (shared services and/or assets) and other overall site related matters such as site wide talent development
Identify, manage, and implement cost savings/capital projects ranging in scale from several thousands to millions of dollars
Comply with all Government regulations and Cargill policies and procedures which include but are not limited to Environmental, Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and eGMP.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
7 years of working knowledge of unit operations and chemistry, preferred detailed knowledge of distillation, and background in petroleum or vegetable oil processing
Demonstrated skills including project scheduling, leadership and supervisor skills, economic analysis and basic operations knowledge.
Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and management in a highly hazardous manufacturing plant.
Experience writing/running capital jobs of varying scope
Intimate knowledge of processing plant design and operation
Knowledge and experience with budgeting and cost management
Experience working in a plant with a capital and operating expense in the tens of millions of dollars.
Chemical Engineering Degree
All skills of chemical engineering schooling required: fluid/heat/mass dynamics, plant design, process control, reactor design, technical writing, management skills and other skills
