Position Purpose & Summary
T he Cargill Eddyville location is unique as it provides an exciting opportunity to be a part of a start up business within Cargill. This property houses 2 separate plants: Cargill Starches and Sweeteners and Eddyville Chlor-Alkali.
The General Production Supervisor position is responsible for day-to-day management of operations for the Eddyville Chlor-Alkali facility. This position is responsible for transforming departmental goals into measurable results.

Key member of the department leadership team.
Work closely with all areas of the facility in driving projects, including Manufacturing Technology (MT) , and Continuous Improvement (CI) operational improvement opportunities.
Support the team structure through leadership of department non-exempt personnel; supporting safety, food safety, environmental, and quality requirements; managing costs of operations.
Will develop deep technical knowledge of the department.
Assist in project selection and implementation including assisting other members to accomplish the goals of the department to align with the site business plan.
Develop and implement plans for continuous improvement of the department including projects, actions and driving accountability.
Development and supervision of direct and indirect reports (coaching, Performance Management Plans (PMP's)).
Work with peers at location in establishing consistent personnel policies. Lead department and area in a manner that results in an engaged and safe environment.
Provide leadership, organization, and communication to the department; ensure structure, training, and a team that operates as a high performance work team.
Focus on ensuring a zero injury culture, food safety, environmental compliance, and reliability.
Bachelor’s Degree OR High School Diploma/GED with minimum 4 years technical experience
Willingness and ability to work in a challenging and physical production and industrial environment
Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written within multiple levels of the organization
Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental regulations
Knowledgeable of basic HR practices, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Guiding Principles, etc.

Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science related field
1 years of experience with Chemical Processing
Minimum 2 years manufacturing and/or project management experience
Past experience in manufacturing
Working knowledge of environmental regulations
Working knowledge of Food Safety,
Working knowledge of principles of reliability
