POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced road mechanic to join our innovated Construction team. This skilled position involves maintenance of company mobile equipment and machinery. Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains construction equipment, such as trucks, trailers, hot mix asphalt drum plants, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, excavators, rollers, pumps, compressors, pneumatic tools; operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects. Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.

This position is full-time position requiring long workdays and long weeks. Travel will be required in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa; however, workload may also require further travel under unique circumstances. Qualified overnight stay will be compensated.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred

  • Experience in all phases of heavy construction equipment repair preferred

  • Physically fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, and walk for long durations

  • Able to communicate effectively and work in stressful situations

  • Ability to listen and take direction

  • Willingness to be a team player and help train less experienced employees
