Nordstrom Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 - 2nd Shift M-F 1PM-9:30PM - Dubuque, IA in Dubuque, Iowa

Job Description

This position will be responsible for performing all maintenance and preventative maintenance functions needed to support the operation of the Call Center and Fulfillment Center.

A day in the life…

  • Preventative maintenance and repair: check and repair all material handling equipment, vehicles, life-safety equipment, general facility, HVAC, and trash handling equipment.

  • Operate equipment: forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, welding machines, trash compactors, bailers, hand tools, and energy management equipment.

  • General Maintenance: painting, plumbing, light electrical work, move furniture, trouble shoot machinery problems, general repairs for overall facility.

  • Maintain high performance and customer service expectations while taking initiative and follow through completely.

  • Maintain accuracy when researching, processing, and presenting information.

  • Work in a safe manner that complies with Occupational Safety and Health Standards.

You own this if you have…

  • Minimum of three year’s experience in a production facility associated with the maintenance, trouble-shooting and repair of material handling equipment and control systems.

  • Experience or technical training related to the operation, or performance of diagnostics on programmable logic controllers, servo motor drives, variable frequency drives, and their respective I/O devices.

  • Technical training or prior working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC5, SLC500, Micro-Logic programmable logic controller platforms and RSLogix programming interface.

  • The ability to demonstrate skill with regard to interpreting and utilizing schematic drawings for the purpose of trouble shooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and controls.

  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in use of hand and power tools, welding, pipe fitting, and metal fabrication skills. Must be enthusiastic, self-directed, detail-oriented individual who is able to perform scheduled tasks with a minimum of supervision.
