National Dentex Dental-Lab Technician Trainee - Design in Dubuque, Iowa

Our team is growing, and we are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Oral Arts in Dubuque, IA for a Full-Time Dental-Lab Technician Trainee specializing in design. Previous experience is not necessary; we offer paid, hands-on training!

The regular hours for this position are from 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.

  • Knowledge to operate computer for all scanning steps.

  • To be able to load and create a file for the designing process.

  • To be able to load information into the computer – patient name, pan number, type of crown, shade.

  • Check all cases for proper fits – dies are down

  • Clean work area on Fridays.

  • It is the dental technician’s job to insure all steps are followed, in order, to insure consistent, accurate results.

  • Identify what needs to be blocked out.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Strong spatial ability, good hand-eye coordination, excellent perception skills and a superior attention to details.

  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.

  • Logical, analytical thinker with the ability to process information and formulate decisions.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • No experience required

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:

  • Computer and scanning equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach.

  • Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions.

  • Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
