National Dentex Dental Lab Technician II in Dubuque, Iowa

Description

We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 60 labs throughout the country. Our team is growing, and we are hiring a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Oral Arts Dental Laboratory in Dubuque, Iowa for a Dental Lab Technician II (Removable Prep).

The regular hours for this position are from 7:00AM to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Bead and pour impressions

  • Set bites

  • Articulate models

  • Make duplicate models

  • Pushing and pulling cart of work around the work area

  • Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.

  • Ensure that all steps and technical team policies (TTPs) are followed, in order, to ensure consistent, accurate results.

  • Review final work and check completely that all quality standards have been met before passing the work to the next technician.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Good hand-eye coordination, good manual dexterity, excellent perception skills and the strong ability to pay close attention to details.

  • Ability to read, listen, comprehend, retain and execute on written and verbal instructions

  • High level of organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve using past experience and success to gauge the best steps on future cases.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must have 12 months of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician and is skilled in one or more of the tasks associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.

  • Wet grinder

  • Sharp tools/Instruments

  • Investment material

  • Hot glue gun

  • Bunsen burner

  • Lathe

  • Hand piece

  • Hydrocolloid machine

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach.

  • Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions.

  • Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
