Clarke University is currently recruiting for the position of Central Plant Operator. This is a fulltime position, responsible for performing work required to maintain and improve the central heating and cooling system. Monitors, programs, and modifies energy management system to accommodate needs of campus constituents. Performs preventive maintenance work on heating and cooling system components
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitors, programs, and modifies energy management system. Monitors and services DDC and pneumatic control systems. Performs daily/general maintenance of central heating and cooling plant. Installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic hot water delivery systems. Installation, service, and repair of stand-alone heating/cooling systems. Installation, service, and maintenance of ventilation systems, excluding fume hoods in laboratory settings. Carry on-call phone in rotation with other maintenance personnel and respond to after-hours maintenance crisis. Operates snow removal equipment during snow events.
High school diploma and/or GED, and four years HVAC/central plant O & M experience in an institutional/industrial setting. Maintains a minimum of a Grade I Certified Boiler Operator's License. Must possess a valid drivers license.
