Systems Administrator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide infrastructure support for Windows and Linux data center environment including infrastructure, application, and database servers for the enterprise. Develop, document, analyze, create, test or modify computer systems or programs.

  • Administer, create, test, and sustain operating system and related software. Assist in designing, installing and maintaining infrastructure services in a hybrid cloud environment such as e-mail, print services, database services. Schedule, perform, and monitor system back-ups and perform data recoveries.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, operating system, and network problems.

  • Manage and administer Active Directory for the enterprise.

  • Set up and implement standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters. Maintain operational and procedural documentation.

  • Write programs and scripts in appropriate languages to perform maintenance and support tasks.

  • Perform daily server maintenance such as, but not limited to, maintaining user security, updating user profiles and maintaining hardware and printer profiles. Monitor systems and storage usage and performance using enterprise monitoring tools in SolarWinds. Generate operational reports.

  • Partner and work with other members in the department or outside departments, users, customers, and service providers to resolve issues.

  • Lead weekly systems changes, upgrades, maintenance, application and database changes through a controlled change management process.

  • Perform other job related duties and special projects as required.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, or related focus. Prefer technical certifications such as MICTS, MCITP, VCP.

  • 3-5 year’s experience / Data Center administration experience.

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and prior versions experience.

  • Linux Redhat or similar operating system experience.

  • VMWare vSphere and Horizon View experience.

  • Experience with load balancing applications.

  • Experience managing Office 365 and hosted Exchange.

  • Avamar and Data Domain experience preferred.

  • Data Center experience including racking and wiring server equipment.

  • Employee must have experience participating in team projects.

  • Excellent problem-solving and planning skills necessary.

  • Employee must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Other highly desired qualifications include: blade server concepts, architecture, and deployment; SQL Server fundamentals and system administration; SharePoint Online administration, IIS, ISA, System Center, EMC SAN concepts and architecture; internet software deployment, Avamar and Data Domain backup/recovery software experience, Microsoft System Center experience and document imaging system knowledge.
