Overview of Job Function:

The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible to help build the CloudClords platform which is a cloud-based data analytics driven Workforce Management solution. This individual should have experience with DevOps and will share the responsibility to design and develop cloud-based software, tools, and automation for our products and infrastructure in AWS.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ability to take initiative and lead a project through various product development stages – scoping work to deliver value iteratively, making substantial design decisions, and driving work to completion.

  • Simplify provisioning and minimize toil of AWS operations through tooling and development.

  • Contribute to our CI/CD automation that helps us scale.

  • Responsible for maintaining plan, documentation, and backlog for technical domains.

  • Responsible for complex tasks/features and complete them despite roadblocks, occasionally with the help of others if necessary.

  • Provides reasonable estimation to complete projects and has a track record of finishing project according to the timeline.

  • Vast knowledge of understanding core infrastructure/frameworks.

  • Work across a variety of tools in the DevOps ecosystem and master new frameworks and technologies, then collaborate with other engineers to drive adoption and improve processes.

  • Strong testing abilities and consideration of appropriate automated testing to improve software development efficiency.

  • Shows initiative beyond getting things done and can identify and suggest areas of future work for the team.

  • Ability to identify risks in code, features, and design, and communicate these to the appropriate parties.

  • Works on complex projects with minimal supervision and has some latitude for judgment.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and parallel projects.

  • Strong organization, time management, and project leadership skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.

  • 5 or more years’ experience in design and programming.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in one or more of the following: C#, Java, Golang, or C/C++.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and one modern UI framework, such as React, Angular or Vue.

  • Strong understanding and experience in TDD.

  • Hands-on experience in developing scalable and maintainable software solutions.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and parallel projects.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in setting up Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and pipelines.

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as PowerShell or bash.

  • Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends and best practices in one of the following areas: DevOps, security, performance, automated testing, usability design or accessibility.
