Our Team Member Technologies (TMT) group is looking for an Application Systems Support Engineer that will be involved in providing advanced troubleshooting, tuning, and production support our critical web applications and databases for end user device management priorities. This role is critical in helping Technology with achieving its operational short and longer term goals offering a variety of critical enterprise-based solutions based on regulatory, business requirements and environmental demands. Our goal is to support the greater vision, serving as an informational gateway for data intelligence and ultimately drive decision making, motivate change and minimize risk.

This role will:

  • Provide support for complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale web applications, systems, databases and/or other technical products and services -- using or creating diagnostic, simulation and other tools to analyze, maintain, troubleshoot and restore service or data to systems.

  • May act as an internal consultant regarding use of tools and processes identifying gaps in current technology processes and recommending changes to assure SLAs can be supported

  • Perform and support code promotion from development to production environments.

  • Manage and assist with infrastructure upgrades, installations and/or configurations.

  • Analyze production database and web code and isolate technical issues, suggesting or writing code updates to resolve production issues within the applications.

  • Evaluate and/or review queries used to extract data for reporting, create and manage databases, and perform limited SQL programming to fine tune systems supported.

  • Updates/writes documentation and procedures and creates and/or provides related training

  • Troubleshoots network, hardware, software, and database issues and coordinates resolution with users, vendors and internal service groups

  • Creates change or issue logs, tracking all work performed in workflow and problem tracking systems

  • Analyze performance trends and recommends process improvements.

  • Assesses changes and deployments for risk to production systems and assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported areas.

  • Successful applicant will work within a team providing production support to existing applications and databases and helping to deliver new and existing application components and functionality.

  • This position requires customer service skills, gathering and documenting all aspects of production issues, and identifying technical requirements in order to resolve issues while engaging with other application developers and business analysts during all stages of development in order to ensure full completion of requirements.

  • Deployment of code to the production environment requires occasional scheduled after hours work.

The preferred work locations are Charlotte, NC and Des Moines, IA . Preference will be given to those candidates that either currently live in or are willing to relocate to this location with limited to no relocation assistance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of application development and implementation experience

  • 5+ years of MS SQL server experience

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • 3+ years of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience

  • 3+ years of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience

  • 1 + years of JavaScript Frameworks experience (jQuery, Ext JS, Kendo UI or Angular JS)

  • 1 + years of Team Foundation Server (TFS) experience

  • Experience with .net

  • ASP.Net experience

  • C#.NET experience

  • Experience supporting .net applications

  • MS Visual Studio experience

  • SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience

  • Agile experience

  • Experience delivering and supporting large, highly available enterprise-level applications

  • Banking industry experience

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
