DES MOINES WATER WORKS Part-Time Automotive Service Worker in DES MOINES, Iowa

Under the general direction of the Vehicle & Facility Maintenance Manager, performs fueling and washing of vehicles and equipment. The hours for the position are Monday through Friday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm each day.EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:i Cleans vehicles and construction equipment.i Fuels vehicles and equipment.i Occasionally performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and constructionequipment, including lubrication, checking and changing filters, oil and tires, or addingfluids.i Assists mechanic in minor repair work.i Maintains the wash rack and service pit areas.i Maintains records of fuel and oil used.i Performs other duties of a similar nature.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Mechanical vocational training canbe substituted for required experience.Experience: 6 months basic vehicle maintenance experience.Licenses/Certifications:iValid State of Iowa class B driver's license with air brakes or must test for license within20 days of appointment.iMust have a good driving record.SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:i Occasionally lifting in excess of 50 lbs.i Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
