Hydro-Klean LLC Operations Manager in Des Moines, Iowa
HK Solutions Group is seeking an Operations Manager for the Industrial business unit. Reporting to the Director of Industrial Services, the Operations Manager will provide overall direction and guidance to operational activities with the objectives of ensuring safe operations, providing quality customer service, and maximizing growth and profitability. This position will have a focus on environmental services (spill response, remediation, waste management, industrial cleaning). Specialized training will be provided, some experience is preferred.
Essential Job Functions
Direct HK field operations by directing and coordinating activities, including scheduling field technicians and fleet maintenance, consistent with established goals, objectives and policies to ensure future growth
Lead and direct the work of others; ensures company policies are communicated and followed consistently
Develop Operations talent at Coordinator and Field Technician levels; coach and counsel direct reports for performance and growth
Ensure all employees receive timely feedback, clear expectations and objective reviews
Monitor daily procedures for maintaining high standards of safety and service to the customer
Respond to customers’ requests with written proposals
Assist with compliance for all local, state and federal environmental and safety regulations including, but not limited to, IDNR, MPCA, OSHA, MSHA, EPA, SDNER, and DOT
Assist with spill response and environmental remediation projects
Work closely with established vendors to maintain necessary inventory of equipment and related supplies
Conduct regular inspections of HK Solutions Group facilities to maintain regulatory compliance
Performs other duties as required
Certifications & Licenses: Ability to maintain insurability with HK’s insurance carrier (good history of driving record for three years). Class A Commercial Driver License or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
Required Experience: At least 2 years' experience in an operations leadership role (foreman, supervisor, manager)
Preferred Experience: spill response, remediation, waste management, industrial cleaning
Travel: Frequent travel required (25%); branch visits and project site visits.
Physical: Use of computer and office equipment. Performances all administrative functions expected at this level. Requires working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions. Frequently exposed to industrial environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials and odors. Occasionally required to traverse multiple flights of stairs carrying equipment, lift/move up to 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-15lbs frequently. Occasionally performs tasks requiring climbing, crawling, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying and gripping.
