Principal Financial Group Lead Sourcing Consultant - Facilities in Des Moines, Iowa

Our consultants negotiate strategic marketing related contracts to solve hard problems in ways that benefit our customers yet work for our business. You will be part of the Global Sourcing team who are passionate about providing the most value to our business partners!

As a Lead Sourcing Consultant , you'll help us transform the way our teams deliver value to our business partners. We are seeking highly motivated Sourcing professionals who can encourage innovative solutions that bring value to the enterprise. You will work closely with key partners to develop effective negotiation and cost reduction strategies, through dynamic requirements that are tied to strategic level business objectives.

Your day could look like this:

  • Coach and influence internal and external leaders and teams to promote standard processes in category management and achieve business results

  • Define annual sourcing strategy to support assigned BU/SCBU or Category's high level initiatives.

  • Prioritize projects and assign to appropriate staff to ensure strategic objectives are met.

  • Lead supply & demand planning, supplier selection, and contract review and negotiation

  • Support audit compliance and risk management efforts

Who You Are

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; business degree preferred

  • 10+ years in related strategic sourcing, supply chain management, contract negotiations or contract law experience

  • 4+ years of experience supporting Integrated Facilities Management, janitorial, and or construction projects specifically, with regards to the development of scopes of work and deliverables for suppliers and vendors.

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Proven track record to engage with business partners and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship

  • Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Demand/ Supply Planning and Spend Analysis/ Supply Chain Mapping

  • Interest in solving complex problems and challenging/influencing partners

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are vital

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$123000 - $167000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
