The Enterprise Data & Applications (EDA) area has an opening for an experienced Java developer to join an Agile scrum team. Work in the team may include creating and supporting customer facing applications, exposing APIs, or understanding where and how our data is to be used. In EDA, we create and support technical solutions leveraged across the entire organization. We are at the intersection of many strategic initiatives which provides our team members great exposure across our IT community.

Ideal candidates for this role will have at least 3 years of Java development experience, enjoy the challenges of full stack development, can analyze and understand applications from front-end through back-end, enjoy collaborating with and mentoring others, and are driven to not only identify technical problems, but implement creative solutions!

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience (6 years of experience equates to an Associate’s degree when defining equivalent work experience)

  • 3+ years of Java development experience

  • Relational database experience

Ideal candidates will have familiarity with or exposure to these or similar technologies.

  • IBM WebSphere

  • Development, build, and deployment tooling (e.g. Maven, BitBucket, Bamboo)

  • Front end development skills (e.g. JSF, JavaScript, Spring, HTML)

  • Authentication Frameworks (we use Apigee, OAuth)

  • Web Service experience (e.g. REST, SOAP)

  • Development practices like CI/CD

  • Test automation knowledge (e.g. Ruby, Cucumber)

Core competencies for success:

  • Desire to be a multi-skilled developer – contributing to the development work across the entire stack (front end, back end, automation, etc.)

  • Contributing to designs or offering solutions for simple to complex technical implementations

  • Strong analysis skills with the ability to identify root cause and propose solutions

  • Mentoring and informal leadership of others - helping foster a collaborative team setting

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Experience with paired programming is a plus

  • Ability to provide rotational off hours support
