Principal IT Operations Technician, Network/Mainframe in Des Moines, Iowa

As an IT Operations Technician, you'll provide assistance, direction and support for our entire infrastructure (network and mainframe) by monitoring system performance and making adjustments in processing to meet business partners' needs. This team provides support and assistance of problem determination by quickly identifying, analyzing, and solving/reporting all situations timely and efficiently.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Coordinate and monitor system activity at all levels and evaluate and resolve problem situations using available tools and software products. Ensure timely resolution or response and follow up to problems/calls to minimize impact on business partners processes.

  • Perform operational analysis for job abends, network, and system issues. Provide subject matter expertise through responding to questions and concerns from business partners and others in a professional manner. Find appropriate answers and information needed for analysis in a timely manner.

  • Perform other job-related duties, support functions, or special projects as required.

  • Understand, build, update and maintain procedural documentation as appropriate.

  • Use monitoring, scheduling and system performance tools to improve operational efficiency, maintain system health and identify and accurate issues to meet Service Level Agreements. Stay ahead of tool changes and improvements.

  • High school diploma or relevant experience.

  • 2+ years of technical operations or technical help desk work experience.

  • Detail oriented and strong communication, customer service, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in an IT-related field of study is preferred.

  • Ability to speak English and Spanish fluently is preferred.

We are looking for a candidate who can work the following hours:

  • Tuesday 11:45am-4:15pm

  • Wednesday 3:45pm-12:15am

  • Thursday 3:45pm-12:15am

  • Friday 3:45pm-12:15am

  • Saturday 11:45am-12:15am

Will need to work off shift hours on a regular basis, including holidays.
