Job Summary / Purpose

Duties include management of inventory as it

relates to picking products, replenishing, requisitioning, shipping and

receiving. Duties are not limited to the supply room, but extend to all areas

of the hospital. Responsible for pulling products for cases as assigned.

Inventory technician assures that supply areas are organized, maintained, and

par levels are optimized to support department demands.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Restockssupplies daily and rotates inventory supporting accurate inventory levels,generating orders/requisitions as needed

  2. Distributesmedical supplies and equipment to patient care areas, while monitoring parlevels for specific products to assure that appropriate levels are establishedin order not to affect patient care

  3. Identifiedexcess inventory, returning stock and processing credits

  4. Notifiessupervisor of outdates or slow moving inventory

  5. Participatesin the put away and validation process of perpetual inventory items; issuesand credits materials from the inventory management system

  6. Responsiblefor maintaining clean and orderly stock locations, and labeling bins andhandling requests to change pars

  7. Acts asliaison between clinical staff and supply chain management as needed

  8. Workswith and follows instructions of buyers and Divisional Inventory Coordinatorin the event of recalls to pull relevant products

Required Minimum Experience

One

(1) year supply chain related experience or other relevant experience

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and

Abilities

Ability

to communicate clearly and concisely, summarizing analysis in reports with

minimal supervision

Stays

on task and meets deadlines

Basic

knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Basic

knowledge of Lawson system

Knowledge

of automated ERP systems and processes

Ability

to process and present data clearly

PREFERRED Education and/or Experience

Education

requirement waived for employees with relevant supply chain experience

Job Maintenance/Facilities

Primary Location IOWA-DES MOINES-MERCY MEDICAL CENTER

Daily Schedule 10am - 8:30pm

Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period 80

Weekends Required Occasional
