Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Knowledge Graph technology is an enterprise data management technology that leverages ontologies and machine learning to represent information in highly expressive and reusable ways. It ushers in a paradigm shift in how highly variable structured and unstructured information is linked and integrated using a common model. The Enterprise Knowledge Graph Solutions (EKGS) team is playing a key role within Wells Fargo to actualize the potential of knowledge graph. EKGS is developing novel capabilities that demonstrates how knowledge graph technology can better support the financial needs of our customers as well as improve risk management and operational capabilities.

The knowledge graph consultant will demonstrate multi-disciplinary capabilities required to operationalize knowledge graph RDF/OWL models and capabilities. This role will focus on building KgDevOps processes, within our EKGS lab environment, to automate knowledge graph processes at scale. The knowledge graph consultant will participate in developing scripts and programs for efficiently transforming knowledge graph models and disparate source data into materialized representations within graph databases. This will include materialization of data sourced from legacy relational databases and spreadsheets into target knowledge graphs. The knowledge graph consultant will also play an instrumental role in developing, deploying and testing new software components needed for knowledge graph operationalization. A key focus of this role will be to provide consultation on knowledge graph architecture and deployment considerations. The knowledge graph consultant will also be engaged to develop highly scalable processes for knowledge graph ETL as well as provide guidance to optimize knowledge graph queries. In addition, the knowledge graph consultant will be involved in the selection, testing and evaluation of knowledge graph tools.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis demonstrated through work or military experience

  • 2+ years of experience in building graph ingestion, transformation and materialization pipelines

  • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: semantic web programming, SPARQL query language, RDF/OWL ontology modeling

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Java experience

  • Python experience

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Passion for achieving transformational changes using knowledge graph technology.

  • PhD or Masters in a computer science or related program.

  • Deep expertise with semantic graph databases, SPARQL and graph query optimization

  • Competencies using Jena or RDF4J or RDFLib

  • Deep expertise in RDF/OWL and ontology modeling

  • Experience or understanding of FIBO and other OWL based standards

  • Experience working with enterprise or large organizational ontologies

  • Experience with R2RML standards for SQL to RDF conversion

  • Experience with the SHACL standard for RDF constraint validation

  • Expertise in Cypher, GraphQL or work with other labeled property graph query languages

  • Expertise in knowledge graph and large systems architectures that support high volume scalability

  • Experience in building graph ingestion, transformation and materialization pipelines

  • Expertise or familiarity with machine learning and natural language processing capabilities

  • Expertise in data engineering with SQL and data virtualization

  • Working experience with GitHub and DevOps experience with Jenkins

  • Expertise in Unix shell scripting

  • Perform code reviews

  • Excellent soft & written skills with the ability to create specifications & documentation

  • Ability to be flexible and execute on necessary tasks with minimal guidance

  • Ability to become proficient with new and evolving technologies

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with an analytical aptitude

  • Work independently, multi-tasking as needed, in a fast-paced environment, working non-standard hours as necessary, and taking ownership of assigned tasks.
