This enables us to effectively serve the needs of our members and help them succeed.Position Purpose:The Applications Architect is a key member of the architecture team that ensures the Bank's application landscape supports the Bank's enterprise architecture and strategic direction. This individual specializes in the design and definition of the end-to-end application architecture for software initiatives. This role translates business strategy and requirements into application architecture and design. The Applications Architect has the responsibility for architectural design and documentation at a system or subsystem level.Responsibilities/Duties/Function/Tasks:Collaborate with technical teams and management to devise application strategy and roadmaps for Bank applications in alignment within architecture domains (business, data, application, infrastructure, security).Design major aspects of the architecture of applications, including user interface, middleware, and infrastructure components to provide necessary inputs to development teams to successfully develop solutions.Collaborate with development teams, architects, management, and business stakeholders to ensure application architecture is aligned with business requirements and IT standards. Review proposed and implemented solutions and designs to ensure alignment with the applications architecture and applicable standards.Develop, manage, and apply architecture standards and policies guiding the design, development, and implementation of applications.Develop and maintain application architecture artifacts (e.g., application catalogs, context models, system diagrams) to keep them current, accurate, relevant, and accessible.Mentor and guide development teams on application and solution architectures. Coordinate and/or participate in the planning and execution of applications testing.Propose changes to methodologies, procedures, and software development lifecycle to ensure continuous improvement.Participate as needed in the planning, development, maintenance, installation, configuration, documentation, training and implementation of applications and solutions.Work with internal customers, external consultants, IT staff and other stakeholders to refine requirements when needed.Support the development and facilitation of end-user workshops for the solution.Support existing applications within the company's active portfolio and extends their use where appropriate according to gap analysis.Research, identify, and evaluate current and upcoming application and development technologies. Provide leadership and expertise in the development of the Bank's application development strategy and future-state capabilities delivered via software.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience2years of experience supporting business functions such as accounting, lending, securities trading, or equivalent.10 years of enterprise application design and development experience.Experience with formal architectural design and delivery. Deep knowledge of architecture based methodologies and architecture toolsets.Must be analytical, results-driven, and able to employ the right approach and methods to make the maximum use of time and resources.Proven ability to design solutions that are scalable, high performance, and fulfill business continuity requirements.Strong technical leadership with a thorough understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns, enterprise application architecture and integration patterns, application development practices, and the software development lifecycle.
