78191BRTitle:Parts Washer and Special Oiling - 2nd shiftBusiness:SEF Industrial State/Country/Province:Iowa No. of Positions:1Job Description:Operates all parts washing and tumbling equipment, ensuring that parts are sufficiently cleaned, de-burred or lubricated and are ready for the next operation. This includes the Basket Washer, the Rotary Washer, and the Vibratory Bowl. Operates the oiling equipment for the oil operations(Rust Veto, Dubois Oil, Birchwood Casey) and Solvent clean, product burnishing.

OPERATION OF PARTS WASHER

  1. Must be able to start up parts washer by checking that washer tanks are at proper level, adding soap and water if necessary, starting up blowers, pumps, conveyor and drum.

  2. Operates parts washer by loading parts and pans into the parts washer ensuring that water and soap concentrations are always maintained at the proper level, through titration testing.

  3. Catches pans from discharge side of conveyor, places pan under discharge chutes to catch washed parts, ensuring no pans are filled over 3/4 full or over 35 lbs max.

  4. Sees that rinse tank is emptied once per week and wash tank once each week or more as conditions require.

  5. Operates tumblers and "hand washed" parts as production requirements dictate.

  6. Transports all washed parts to staging area or directly to machine areas as requested by supervisor.

  7. Utilizes the QAD system to job on to parts with routed wash operations and oil operations(Rust Veto, Dubois Oil, Birchwood Casey) and Solvent clean, product burnishing.

  8. Follows all safety rules.

  9. Completes documentation and measurement on C.A.M.S. sheets and specified ITAR product.

PRODUCTIVITY

  1. Ensures that sufficient product is processed through washing department to prevent unnecessary downtime waiting for washed or tumbled parts.

  2. Operates tumbler and hand washes parts as production requirements dictate.

  3. Transports all washed parts to staging area or directly to machine areas as requested by supervisor.

  4. Monitors soap and titration supplies, advising supervisor in a timely manner at reorder levels to prevent unnecessary downtime.

  5. Will Job on/off and record production on all respective linked operations according to the pan ticket.

MAINTENANCE AND PROBLEM PREVENTION

  1. Performs daily maintenance on parts washer. This includes: greasing the fittings on drums, checking water flow out of pipes and cleaning as needed. Contacts supervisor and maintenance for major repairs by filling out a maintenance requisition.

  2. Performs periodic (monthly) cleanout of washer including tanks, drain trench and sump and if necessary assists.

  3. Maintenance in removal of drum for cleaning.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  2. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently.

  3. Ability to read pan tickets and keep orders separate.

  4. Ability to communicate well, verbally and in written format.

  5. Demonstrated ability to learn and use the MRP system (QAD) to document daily production and setup hrs.

  6. Ability to use Micrometers and Calipers to document reading on special cleaning product.

  7.
