Service Supervisor


Job Summary:

The Service Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and development of the Electronic Installation Department as well as ensuring quality customer service.

*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Operations Manager in system development, design, and requirements.

  • Help to develop and promote operations policies and procedures for the branch.

  • Interview, hire, lead and evaluate technicians.

  • Train and cross-train technicians to meet the needs and requirements of the client and Per Mar Security.

  • Assist in the development of service efficiencies and installation methods that will improve branch operations and customer support.

  • Hold monthly service meetings with all service staff.

  • Visit job sites and assist technicians as needed to ensure quality service and total customer satisfaction.

  • Assist the Operation Manager in maintaining the fleet of vehicles used by the service technicians.

  • Assist the Per Mar Customer Service Department on troubleshooting alarm issues.

  • Assist and work with Central Station on service dispatch and false alarm reduction.

  • Oversee management of service inventory ensuring proper branch par levels in regard to Just-In-Time Inventory process that reduces branch material costs.

  • Ensure that all scheduled fire inspections are being completed in the assigned time frame.

  • Process all completed service tickets and billings on a daily basis.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting with the Per Mar Security Services internal/external customers (including, but not limited to: current customers, prospective customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, supervisors and management) in a mutually respectful manner regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation and all other protected classes.

  • When appropriate, inform customers of Per Mar Security Services of products and services and refer business to appropriate department.

  • As this position develops, the employee may be assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by management.

  • Assume responsibility for understanding and complying with Per Mar Security Services attendance expectations.

Position Requirements

  • Hire, train, and mentor direct reports by making sound hiring decisions, training each new hire and current staff as needed and continually mentoring staff in order to assist in the successful performance of your direct reports.

  • Address performance and behavior issues in a timely manner. Work with Human Resources when necessary regarding employee relations issues and follow through with appropriate action. Approach each issue fair and consistently in order to reduce Per Mar’s legal risk.

Non-essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Technical training or college degree desired.

  • 2-5 years’ experience as a Service Technician required.

  • 1-2 years’ experience as a manager or supervisor required.


  • Must have knowledge of inventory systems.

  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Internet skills required.

  • Knowledge of Central Station operations a plus.

  • Excellent written skills are required.

  • Strong customer service focus/skills a must.

  • Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.

  • Must be capable of handling challenging and stressful situations without decreasing productivity.

  • Must be able to deal effectively with people at all levels of the organization and with external customers.

  • Must possess the values important to Per Mar Security – Integrity, Communication, Excellent Service and Accountability.


  • Must be able to obtain specified license/certifications to perform work in the security industry according to the rules and regulations prescribed by the State in which the branch operates.

  • Must have a minimum of a NICET II certification.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.


Ability to operate a variety of office equipment to include but not limited to personal computers, printers, scanners and calculators. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
