The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.
John Deere Davenport Works in Davenport, Iowa, is looking for a motivated student with problem solving/engineering skills to apply agile solutions to real world problems.
In this role you will:
Be responsible for engaging in the continuous improvement process in the wheel loader business unit
Communicate assembly team needs to the design engineering team for completion
Track the associated improvement in critical business metrics and reporting out metric performance to the leadership team
This position will have the opportunity to evaluate and execute vehicle design changes to improve the manufacturing process.
What Skills You Need
Ideally you will be pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Agricultural, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent Engineering Technology.
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
Graduation date of December 2021 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
16-20 hours/week during the academic year
35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
What Makes You Stand Out
Ability to work and contribute as part of a diverse team
Organizational and project management skills
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Prior experience with of solid modeling software; preference given to experience with Creo Parametric software
