The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.
John Deere Davenport Works, in Davenport, Iowa, is looking for a motivated student with computer programing / development skills to apply AGILE solutions to real world problems. As a member of our Smart Connected Factory team at John Deere, you will be responsible for the design, implementation & maintenance of innovative manufacturing solutions to drive improvements in product quality, operator efficiency, manufacturing process accountability and machine learning technologies in a heavy manufacturing environment. As a member of the fabrication team, you will assist in our efforts to implement new technology and processes to streamline our operation, focused on improving manufacturability, reducing manufacturing costs and delivering quality end products to John Deere customers.
What It Takes
Ideally you will be pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or an equivalent degree; others may apply
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
Graduation date of May 2022 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
16-20 hours/week during the academic year
35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
Demonstrated knowledge and interest in computer programming, data science, software programming and communication skills.
